Most Taiwan-based aluminum capacitor and foil makers have posted strong sales for April due to more windfall orders after the March 11 Japan earthquake, according to industry sources.
Lelon Electronics reported revenues of NT$387 million (US$13.51 million) for April, increasing 3.1% sequentially. Lelon noted that it was forced to delay some shipments to May as its production in China was affected by power shortage.
Another capacitor maker Luminus Town Electric posted revenues of NT$166 million for April, up 1.8% on month.
Aluminum foil maker Liton Technology saw its revenues grow 12.9% sequentially and 47.2% on year to NT$231.46 million in April. January-April revenues reached NT$738.1 million, increasing 37.8% from a year earlier.
