Telefonica signs up to Linux phones
Source :theinquirer update : 2009-02-12
MOBILE LINUX has been given a boost after the largest mobile operators in the world joined the wireless Linux foundation LiMo.
Telefonica, along with five other major operators, say they will sell phones using LiMo's open software this year.
LiMo is an alternative to leading operating systems from Nokia, Apple, Microsoft and Google.
Apparently mobile operators like LiMo, because they have more control over software development, which makes them more competitive. µ
