VoIP success in The Netherlands

Slowly but surely VoIP is conquering the world. In countries with cable TV competition the success of VoIP is significantly higher than in those where there is little or no facilities-based competition.
In The Netherlands VoIP has now reached 40% household penetration. Under pressure from the cable TV companies, who embraced VoIP as a way to enter the telecoms market, the telco incumbent KPN had to react with its own product. In absolute numbers the cable operators lead the VoIP market, but KPN is fast catching up: on average more than 35% of DSL subscribers also take a VoIP subscription.
After two years of competition it is interesting to see how the market compares:
